Taipei became a direct-controlled municipality in the middle of the 1960s, and the nation's government was also located there. Both Wen-Ying Chung and Yu-Hsiang Hao were born in the 1960s and immigrated to Taipei from southern Taiwan. While they were growing up, they used to record their experiences by writing personal works and trying to establish a self-identity during the process, particularly since they both had negative childhood experiences. In the social system, the family is made up of each family member. And this is the reason why the function of the family needs to be explored. To assess Chung's and Hao's family functions, this study used APGAR for the analysis of their writings and interviews, and as a result, Chung and Hao were found to be persons lacking in family functions. In this study, the author uses discourse analysis to analyze the writers' self-therapy process and take Alders' Individual psychology as a psychological framework to assess how the female writers frame their lifestyle after healing themselves by writing autobiographical works.
