以文心蘭切花品種Gower Ramsey為試驗材料,在九月施用栽培養液配合葉面噴施硼酸(H3BO3)之後,追蹤其對文心蘭生育與碳水化合物含量變化之影響。文心蘭Onc. Gower Ramsey經葉面噴施0.05、0.1、0.15、0.2 g.L^-1硼酸後,繼續栽培9個月,芽體發育為成熟假球莖。調查植株生長狀況之結果,硼酸處理組植株上位葉(L1、L2)與假球莖的鮮乾重皆以0.2 g.L^-1硼酸處理組較高,但葉片與假球莖之長、寬、厚度各處理間並無顯著差異。文心蘭Onc. Gower Ramsey經葉面噴施硼酸後,植株葉片總葉綠素含量以0.15g.L^-1硼酸處理組較高。經葉面噴施硼酸後,植株各部分比較,全可溶性糖及澱粉含量皆以假球莖最高。綜合上述結果,文心蘭Onc. GowerRamsey經0.2 g.L^-1硼酸施用後,有助於葉片與假球莖生物量累積。
Nutrition solution combined with foliar spray of boric acid was applied on Oncidum Gower Ramsey in September, and the treatment effect on growth and carbohydrate content of the plants was evaluated 9 months later. Four levels of boric acid concentrations (0.05, 0.1, 0.15, 0.2 g.L^-1) were tested. Spray with 0.2 g.L^-1 boric acid resulted in the highest fresh and dry weights of upper leaves and pseudobulbs indicating the highest biomass accumulation of the plant parts. There was no significant difference among treatments on the length, width and thickness of leaves and pseudobulbs, however. Total chlorophyll content of the leaf was highest in the 0.15 g.L^-1 spray treatment. Both total soluble sugars and the starch were higher in the pseudobulb than in other plant parts. Overall, foliar spray with 0.2 g.L^(-1) H3BO3 on Oncidum Gower Ramsey plants had an effect on increasing the biomass accumulation in the leaf and pseudobulb.
