Cancer of the gynecologic is a common and serious condition leading to illness and death in considerable numbers of women. Operation remains the treatment of choice for tumors of gynecologic. Many of the technologic advances developed as alternatives to open surgical procedures for gynecologic tumors, these techniques include laparoscopic approach, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Although there is near consensus on using surgical approach for early stage tumors or chemo-and radiotherapy for advance gynecologic tumors, the side effect profile remains the drawback, the need for appropriate patient selection has been repeatedly emphasized. Currently, traditional Chinese medical treatment of gynecologic cancer has met with increasing acceptance. Treatment with adjuvant traditional Chinese medicine currently may minimize the emergence of resistant tumor cells in an addition or synergistic fashion. In several gynecologic malignant diseases simultaneous treatment with traditional Chinese medicine is superior in response rate markedly increased survival, decreased chemotherapeutic agents toxicity, relieve clinical symptoms and signs and improved life quality to sequential single agent therapy.
