In August, 2015, the team (one teacher and five students) went to do volunteers in Sendai, Japan. The purposes of this trip were to visit the disaster areas, to do service and to accompany people who were survivals from 311 Earthquake, and to experience different cultures. Through the experience and learning, the students: 1) change attitude toward more active and aggressive about service. 2) realize the tsunamis how terrible they are. 3) are able to understand the feelings of the survivals. 4) know what are grateful and cherish what they have. 5) know the spirits of service and inspire the desires of service. 6) have more self-growth. 7) find out the efforts which Japanese Government makes. 8) experience different cultures. Being international volunteers is very helpful for students. Three suggestions were made: 1) The student volunteers should be selected earlier in order to participate in related classes and have better understanding about service-learning. 2) The students should be more familiar with the local language in order to communicate with the people they work with or they serve. 3) The school should encourage more students to do international volunteers.
