微積分的主要內涵是微分及積分,而微分的運算在於四則運算的減法及除法,再使用極限運算,積分卻使用四則運算的乘法及加法,並使用極限運算。管理學院的一般正規教科書的頁數相當可觀,這對高中數學基本能力不足的微積分初學者是一個學習挑戰。管院微積分學習入門小冊的設計目的是為解除對微積分課程的有壓力的印象,其份量要輕省以引發學習興趣,而內容規劃如包括概要說明、示範及練習題、挑戰題、問題探究、學習筆記區等五大部分,其中概要說明及問題探究需融入數學文化以加強微積分初學者的探究動力。管院微積分學習入門小冊試驗本之使用時間表建議及學生使用試驗本的質性學習回應提供未來學習入門小冊的改善方向及研究之參考。
Calculus focuses mainly on differentiation and integration, where the differential operator includes subtractions, divisions and a limit, while the integral operator productions, additions and a limit. Many text books of Calculus are usually heavy, that may become a challenge to those who is of low mathematical achievement in high school level. This fact induces an idea to design a calculus beginning learner's booklet that would relax the pressure on learning calculus, promote a motivation to learn Calculus with the light-weighted booklet, and cover concepts, demonstrations, exercises, problems to analyze, and studying-notes-area. Both the part of concepts and the part of problems to analyze are better empowered by the mathematical culture to help students loving to reason questions and to seek answers. The time table for the usage of the booklet is also suggested and the responds from the students who preview the booklet may give directions for improving it and for further research.
