肌少症的研究發展日新月異，現今仍未有統一的標準，造成臨床和研究者的困惑。本篇整理了國際間提出的肌少症診斷標準，包括歐盟肌少症小組(European working Group on Sarcopenia in Older People, EWGSOP)，國際肌少症小組(International Working Group on Sarcopenia, IWGS)，亞洲肌少症小組(Asian Working Group for Sarcopenia, AWGS)和美國國衛院生物標誌聯盟肌少症研究(The Foundation for the National Institutes of Health Biomarkers Consortium Sarcopenia Project, FNIH)的診斷準則。以供醫師先進們參考比較。

Sarcopenia, an age-related loss of skeletal muscle mass and function, is a major health condition in the elderly for which there is currently no consensus in diagnostic criteria. This article compared and contrasted some of the most important research studies on sarcopenia diagnostic criteria, notably those from the European Working Group on Sarcopenia in Older People (EWGSOP), the International Working Group on Sarcopenia (IWGS), the Asian Working Group for Sarcopenia (AWGS), and the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health Biomarkers Consortium Sarcopenia Project (FNIH).
