On The Spiritual Transformation Actions of Contemporary Artists

Facing the age of self-alienation, certain artists have taken proactive steps. This study delves into the actions of five contemporary artists who, through participation, create environments akin to meditative states within their artistic processes, guiding participants towards internal connection. The participation processes curated by these artists delve into the mysterious and taboo, aspects deliberately excluded from our daily lives but representing the collective subconscious. This artistic ambiance breaks down boundaries for participants, leading them into uncharted territories where each moment becomes a fresh experience fostering self-intimacy. These artists' actions carve out sanctuaries for the soul within social spaces, offering people a chance to explore inner depths. Within these spaces, participants can demonstrate, practice, and become more aware, thus shaping their own identities. Such acts of spiritual transformation echo the artistic ideals of Joseph Beuys, whose social sculptural actions are now expanded and deepened through participatory art.
