Sexual dysfunction is a growing concern worldwide and erectile dysfunction (ED) is the most common problems in men. Evidence indicated a high prevalence of ED among men older than forty but some of its correlates are still controversial. ED could be attributable to the disruption of the complex interplay between vascular, neurologic, hormonal and psychologic factors necessary for normal erectile function. Despite its significant effect on quality of life, this issue is underestimated in daily health care practice and psychological distress play an important role. A comprehensive approach consists of bio-psycho-social perspective will maximize the success for this embarrassing but important issue.
