Diverse models for workforce language training and development have been identified, especially in the areas of English for Specific Purposes, English for Occupational Purposes and Second Language Learning should be italicized. This study aims to investigate the current workplace English training practice in China in different business contexts, including Hong Kong and mainland China. The central research questions are "what is the current status of workplace English training program provision in Hong Kong and mainland China businesses?" and "what are the success strategies of effective corporate programs in the context of workplace English training and learning in Hong Kong and mainland China businesses?" Based on a literature Should be "a literature study", a multi-stakeholder investigation of policy makers, training providers, industry representatives and working adults was conducted through in-depth qualitative interviews in Hong Kong and mainland China. The study results include context-based theoretical and practical guidelines for designing and tailoring workplace English training programs for different businesses in the Hong Kong and mainland China contexts. The study results can inform workplace English training practice and also serve as a benchmark model for businesses in other countries and regions within the global environment.
