Bilateral humeral greater tuberosity avulsion fractures without glenohumeral joint dislocation after electric shock: A rare case report and review of literature

摘要

Isolated greater tuberosity (GT) fractures of the proximal humerus are common injuries and are usually associated with glenohumeral joint dislocations. In this report, we present a rare case of bilateral humeral isolated GT fractures without shoulder dislocation after electric shock. The patient was treated non-surgically and full functional recovery was noted. Mechanisms of injury, new morphological classification and surgical indications of isolated GT fractures of the proximal humerus are discussed here.
