This study aims to present a teaching plan using ChatGPT into the Korean current affairs classes opened in the Department of Korean Language and Literature, NCCU in Taiwan. With the rise of generative AI tools, particularly ChatGPT's tailored response abilities, new approaches in educational practices are being examined. This study emphasizes the importance of effective prompts when interacting with ChatGPT, as the quality of prompts directly influences the output, which can aid in reducing vocabulary and grammatical errors. The paper proposes that intermediate and advanced Korean classes are most suitable for incorporating ChatGPT effectively. It examines the potential of using ChatGPT to enable learners to understand newspaper content and engage in independent learning, thereby proposing a shift in teaching methodologies within the realm of Korean current affairs education.
