The Data Analysis of Body Examination for School-age Kids Lived in Low-income Families in Southern Ping-Tung
摘要
The health for school-age kids is the foundation for being adults. This issue has been discussed from the angle of preventive medicine and all data base to focus on the health of kids who lived in low-income families. The body examination includes physical interrogation enquiry by pediatricians, oral examination by dentists and general exams: for biochemical, blood, urine and body fat. Height and weight are also included. This study focuses on the 225 kids with low-income background in Southern Ping-Tung, is sponsored by World Vision Taiwan, and the analysis is as below: 1. The prevalence of top 3 diseases for low-income kids are allergy (40.1%), nearsightedness (32.7%) and anemia (9.6%). 2. In BMI, the index lower than 15% is in below-weight, 39 persons (17.3%), and the index higher than 85% is in over-weight, 47 persons (20.9%). 3. In oral examination, the rate for kids with Caries is 55.7%, residual root is 13.5% and malocclusion is 6.7%. The normal is only in 16.9%. 4. In biochemical examination, as BMI is in Below-Weight, the value of triglyceride is 33.3±1.58 mg/dl, as in Over-Weight is 155.87±21.3 mg/dl and the rest is 61.47±18.01 mg/dl. It meets large differences and p＜0.001. 5. In blood examination, the value of eosinophils for allergic kids is 5.12±0.42%, for normal kids is 1.02±0.25%. There are with large differences and p＜0.001. The examination result is the emphasis data to realize what the direct infections to these students are and how to get better heath in daily life.
