ICYS: An Interactive Jazz Piano Accompaniment System

並列摘要

In this article, a system ICYS (Interactively Comp Your Solo) that can accompany a jazz soloist as a jazz pianist is proposed. The accompaniment procedure is divided into rhythmic and melody-harmonic accompanying. To keep the extendibility to be implemented real-time, accompaniment is generated with events that take place before the accompanying procedure start computing. The rhythm vector is proposed to compare and generate rhythm patterns, the multivariate Gaussian chord model is revised to describe and synthesize the harmonic structure, and neural network is applied to construct interaction behavior among voicing, voice leading and the solo sequence. At the end of this article, the evaluation of this system by two jazz pianists will be shown and discussed.
