This study investigates the considerations in tour design and travel preferences of the elderly population, commonly called silvers when participating in overseas group package tours. Employing a qualitative research approach, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 25 purposively sampled professionals from the travel industry, including executives from travel agencies and tour guides. The findings indicate that safety at the destination, food hygiene, and access to medical services are prioritized factors for silvers when selecting overseas group package tours. Regarding itinerary design, they prefer leisurely and comfortable activities such as sightseeing, cultural experiences, and relaxed walking while also considering physical activity limitations. Additionally, companionship and social activities with fellow travelers are valued by the elderly population. The results of this study emphasize the importance of travel operators focusing on developing travel products and services tailored to the specific needs of silvers, further expanding the scale and influence of the silver-haired traveler market.
