This study explores the status of the social workers who practice treatment in the planning and operation of the drug abuse, and thus understand the factors that affect the process of the workers. In order to meet the status and the sample representation of Taiwan's institution of drug treatment, the research object was selected as one of the public departments, six from consortium legal parties and one from aggregate corporation. This study sampling eight practical social workers were recruited to conduct semi-structured individual interviews and to assist in the analysis of interview data through thematic analysis. The study found that the status of drug users can be summarized as the past social workers professional training, the use of the theory of the workers, and the impact of treatment process, it is recommended that academic should strengthen the operation of non-voluntary service and performance practical experience exchange of feedback system. On the other hand, the institution must pay attention to the support system of the workers, with education and training, and professional autonomy.
