An Analysis of Home Advantage in English and Scottish Soccer Matches

摘要

過去許多研究中發現主場優勢普遍存在於各類運動比賽中，因此是否充分利用主場優勢來贏得比賽成為勝負的關鍵之一。本研究以參加2006－2007年英格蘭超級足球聯賽20支隊伍670場為研究對象，以獨立樣本t檢定進行主場優勢分析，結果發現阿仙奴、愛華頓、查爾頓、富咸、米杜士堡、紐卡素、樸茨茅夫、熱刺、韋斯咸、利物浦和錫菲聯等隊伍皆具有顯著主場優勢。其於曼聯、阿士東維拉、保頓、布力般流浪、車路士、雷丁、曼城、屈福特、韋根等隊伍則不具有主場優勢存在。

Research showed that there is usually advantages when playing home field matches advantage over all kinds of games. Hence, one of the keys to win the game is to utilize the home field advantage. This research objects were based on those teams that have attended the 670 matches at Albion super football league 2006-2007, analyzing by independent sample t-test with the main field advantage. as the results shows that teams like Arsenal, Everton, Charlton, Fulham, Middlesbrough, New Castle, Portsmouth, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham, Liverpool, and Sheff United do have significant home field advantage. Teams like Manchester United, Aston Villa, Bolton, Blackburn, Chelsea, Reading, Manchester City, Watford, and Wigan do not have significant home field advantage.
