Investigation on Fujoshi's Resistance to Androcentrism and Anglo-European Mainstream Culture

腐女現象對男性中心主義與白人主流文化的顛覆之研究

摘要


The development of the fujoshi culture, which consists of women that appreciate works depicting romantic relationships between two males, appears along the progress in modern feminism and may be seen as the product of contemporary young women's struggle at subverting the mainstream androcentrism that has heavily influenced their psyche. The fujoshi community replaces women's roles in romance stories with male characters that one may project oneself in and overturns the mainstream androcentric values by disrupting the marriage gradient, gender stereotypes, and the disengagement of women as active subjects. However, fujoshis' preference to project oneself as a male character instead of a female character demonstrates that the current image of women in mainstream culture is unsatisfactory and distressing. Research on children's social interactions concludes that the androcentric nature of the mainstream culture attributes social power to men to establish the hegemonic masculinity that defines desirable qualities and depreciates femininity. In order to minimize the conflict between one's psyche that is influenced by both contemporary feminism and mainstream androcentrism, fujoshis creates male characters that embody the better female image that they are more comfortable to relate to and establishes the fujoshi community as a safe haven for women to freely express their sexual desires and needs for more authority. Consequently, the investigation of the fujoshi community is critical for one's understanding of the younger generation's culture and for one to be able to develop effective strategies to battle contemporary gender issues that will benefit all genders and sexes.

隨著女性主義的發展,近代出現一群自嘲為「腐女」的年輕族群。「腐女」並不是墮落腐敗之意,而是意指喜歡男男愛情的女性,是年輕女性在嘗試顛覆影響自身價值觀的男性主流文化所得出的產物。Shonen-ai、Yaoi(やおい)或Boy Love(BL)主要是為了女性讀者所創作,以男性同性愛情為題材的漫畫與小說的統稱。這些作品提供女性讀者可以自我投射的男性身份,並且翻轉異性戀傳統「男上女下」、「男主外女主內」、「男主動女被動」的情慾符碼與敘事結構。在男男的愛情追逐遊戲中,女性不僅突破傳統對女性情慾的壓抑,透過自我投射產生多樣的情慾發洩,同時更因為彷彿擁有「心理陰莖」的想像,展現了「陽具特權」將男性壓在下方的快感。然而,年輕女性必須自我投射成男性角色,而不是女性角色,才能擁有性主權與權力的現象,顯現了現代男性主義霸權的社會之下,女性形象的不利以及重大的缺陷。深入觀察孩子人際互動的社會實驗更顯示,男性霸權的主流文化將建構主流價值觀的主導權放置於男性的掌握之中。男性所建立「崇男憎女」的價值觀,是擁有女人身軀的女性永遠無法達到的標準,於是腐女文化被迫創造出了具有女性特徵的男性角色,調和女權和主流價值觀,讓女性可以產生共鳴、自我投射、並且擁有當代女性渴望的性主權以及權力。本文即是在探討腐女情慾轉折的現象,深入解析主流文化中的男性中心主義,以及探討腐女作品如何在現有的價值觀底下尋找細縫,運用特殊的元素顛覆男性中心主義。腐女文化是年輕族群次文化中非常重要的一環,對於腐女文化的研究能夠促進社會對於年經族群需求的了解,並且提供社會爭取性別平等最有效率和影響力的方法。
