This article introduces the implementation of gifted education in National Tainan First Senior High School (TNFSH). TNFSH has all male language gifted class and mathematically gifted class. Through field study and survey, and interviews with teachers, gifted students, and school administrators in charge of gifted education, the authors look into the implementation, the highlights, the advantages as well as the challenges that TNFSH's gifted education is faced with amidst this transitional phase of national curriculum reform despite its already outstanding reputation in gifted education nationwide. The interviews include discussions on how teachers of the gifted class view their students and how gifted students perceive gifted programs provided by the school. At the end of this article, with a view to tackling the challenges and upgrading the overall quality of gifted education in Taiwan, the authors propose several suggestions in terms of gifted education practice in school and in policy so that talents will be properly discovered and developed under the professional guidance of certified educators in school.
