Percutaneous Retrieval of a Migrated Suture Needle from Renal Artery

摘要

Loop‑snare technique is very useful for retrieval of intravascular retained items, such as wires, catheters, coils, and even stents. These items are relatively soft and foldable. Endovascular retrieval of a stiff and sharp item such as suture needle was rarely reported. Here, we report a case of a 42‑year‑old male that had a missed suture needle during robotic‑assisted mitral valve repair. This needle has migrated into the left renal artery. We successfully retrieved the foreign body by aligning both guiding sheath and suture needle in the same concave direction.
