The Fifth Generation of Mobile Communication Technology Affects the New Trend of Educational Technology Development

Abstracts

With the advent of the fifth generation of mobile communication technology (5G), its three major characteristics (1) ultra-low latency (2) larger bandwidth (3) high transmission rates will bring great benefits to mobile communication related industries. However, the impact of 5G communication on educational technology is still rarely discussed. This article proposes that, as the future service of wireless communication, 5G communication will bring many changes to the education scene. 5G communication enhances its feasibility; Therefore, it can be closer to the vision of smart campus and smart education. Secondly, with the establishment of 5G mobile communications, there is more opportunity to use digital transmission and digital learning to reduce the urban-rural gap in education.
