摘要
本實驗之目的，在試製殺草劑三氯醋酸鈉。所用方法分為二步驟：（1）製造三氯醋酸(TCA)－根據Kolbe氏法用硝酸氧化水化三氯乙醛，重點置於原料的節省，收率的提高，和操作及分離手續的簡化。（2）製造三氯醋酸鈉－用濃燒碱中和三氯醋酸的濃溶液，冷却使析出含三分子水之結晶，乾燥成為有効成分90%之成品，與國外商品（Sodium TCA, 90%）成分相近。

An improved method of preparing trichloroacetic acid by oxidation of trichloroacet-aldehyde with fumimg nitric acid under refrigerated reflux, resulting in an appreciable saving of oxidant consumption and preventation against volatization loss, was described. Yield was 90%. 90% commercial grade sodium trichloroacetate was obtained in 87-95% yield either by neutralizing the aqueous solution of trichloroacetic acid with caustic soda and subsquent vacuum crystallizing and drying over concentrated sulfuric acid, or through the direct reaction of trichloroacetic acid in CCI_4 solution with anhydrous sodium carbonate.
