酒精變性劑－蔗糖八乙酸酯之製造
Preparation of Denaturing Agent for Alcohol-Sucrose Octaacetate
摘要
蔗糖八乙酸酯（sucroseoctaacetate）係非吸濕性，白色或乳白針狀結晶或粉末，味極苦。依Krizenecky報導，僅置0.04%於糖中，卽現苦味，含0.06%則人類不可食用。又本品可溶於酒精（約10%），而形成不易分離之苦液，實爲酒精之優良變性劑，目前已爲各國採用。故關於本品之試製研究，對我國酒精管理，防止私酒製造及維護國民健康將頗有裨益。

Sucrose octaacetate, a good denaturing agent for alcohol, was obtained by acetylation of sucrose with acetic anhydride in the presence of anhydrous sodium acetate. The crude product was recrystallized from alcohol or ether and decolorized with activated carbon to afford white needle crystals. The yield was about 8096.
