摘要

臺灣西部海岸河流等處有豐富的重砂，在重砂中黃色獨居石約佔2-4%，黑色獨居石約佔10%，二者均含豐富的稀土金屬，所不同者，前者含釷，後者不含釷。在黑色獨居石中所含稀土金屬有Ce, Nd, Pr, Sm, Eu, Gd, La, Ho, Y 等，其特殊之化學物理性質均可供有價值之利用。

In the stream and west coast along shore of Taiwan, there are abundance of heavy minerals which contain 2-4% of yellow monazite and 10% of black monazite. Tests show that black monazite contains rare earths elements such as Ce, Nd, Pr, Sm, Eu, Gd, La, Ho, Y, etc. Their chemical and physical characteristics are reviewed.
