教師往往是決定STS 學習成功與否的關鍵人物,發現並改進教師對STS主題上的看法是非常重要的。本研究乃是教導參與暑期進修在職進修教師們使用ISM來增進其對STS主題“油脂與生活”的開放性思考能力。教師們在學習過程中用文字描述與其後所繪之STS關聯圖反應出其對此主題的看法。使用McDaniel的五個思考階層評量方式來評定他們的認知層次。研究結果顯示ISM能促進學習者進行頭腦學習(head learning) 並且增進教師在面對真實生活之STS主題的看法。
Teachers are keys for the success in STS instruction. It is important to find out and improve teachers' views on STS topics. In this study inservice teachers participating in a summer institute at National Taiwan NOrmal University were instructed to use the interpretive structural modeling (ISM) to improve their open-ended thinking on the topic, "Fat, Oil, and life" Their handwritten statements and STS maps subsequently drawn with the ISM method reflected their view on the topic. Their levels of congnitive complexity on the topics were scored by the McDaniel's 5-point scale. The results showned that the ISM method can facilitate 'head learning' and improve teachers' views on the STS topic in the real life.
