小檗鹼影響痤瘡桿菌生長之研究

Study on the Effects of Berberine on the Proliferation of Propionibacterium Acnes

摘要


中藥成份小檗鹼屬於異喹啉類生物鹼,為黃連等中藥之指標成份。根據以往的研究報告指出,小檗鹼具有廣泛的抗微生物活性,其中包含細菌、真菌、原生動物、病毒及衣原體等多種病原體,並且具有許多種藥理作用,可以改善腹瀉、高血壓、心律不整、發炎、心肌衰竭及充血性心衰竭等症狀。然而,小檗鹼對於痤瘡桿菌的抑菌效果及對於脂解酶活性的抑制功能,則甚少有相關研究報告。本研究的主要目的,在於探討小檗鹼對於痤瘡桿菌及脂解酶活性的影響。依實驗結果顯示,小檗鹼能抑制痤瘡桿菌的生長及對脂解具有活性抑制作用。後續研究將進一步探討小檗鹼抑制痤瘡桿菌脂解活性的可能作用機制,並且將此實驗結果應用於抗青春痘保養品的研發。

Berberine is a type of isoquinoline alkaloid and the index compound of the Chinese herb Berberine aquifolium. It is reported that isoquinoline alkaloid show broad anti-microbial activity and inhibit many pathogens including bacteria, fungi, protozoa, viruses and chlamydiae. On the other hand, isoquinoline alkaloid has been shown to express various pharmacological activities and improve the syndromes of diseases such as diarrhea, hypertension, arrythmia, inflammation,heart muscle failure and congestive heart failure. However, there is not many reports indicated isoquinoline alkaloid show anti-growing activity against Propionibacterium acnes or inhibit the enzyme activity of lipase. The aim of the present study is to evaluate the effects of isoquinoline alkaloid on the proliferation of P. acnes and lipase activity. Preliminary results indicates isoquinoline alkaloid inhibit the growth of P. acnes and the enzyme activity of lipase. Further study will elucidate the possible action mechanism of isoquinoline alkaloid in the inhibition of lipase activity, and design a anti-acne skin care product activity containing isoquinoline alkaloid.
