Due to the special demands and requirements of the 'revitalization of ethnic minority languages' and by coincidence in 2005, the first-generation ethnic-minority languages anchors of the Taiwan Indigenous Television which was operated by Eastern Broadcasting Company Limited (EBC) , were transformed from translators of ethnic minority languages in the news department to ethnic-minority languages anchors, even before receiving formal trainings in newsgathering and broadcasting. However, the first-generation ethnic-minority languages anchors is still facing the age of retirement, so how to grasp the time limit and record the initial process of these journalists' participation in 'Ethnic Minority Languages News' as a follow-up intention to participate in ethnic minority languages journalism. The reference basis for the scholars and the ethnic-minority media researcher is the initial motivation of this research. How the first-generation ethnic-minority languages anchors overcome the lack of professional training in the media, and face the pressure of their personal internal and external environments, and finally achieve this difficult but fruitful life journey is the most important thing to be explored in this study. This study adopts oral history to record the difficult but fruitful life journey of these first generation ethnic-minority languages anchors of the Taiwan Indigenous Television, which has a special significance after 15 years broadcasting of 'Ethnic Minority Languages News'.
