Exploring the Impact of Urban Parks on Residents' Health: A Study

This study aims to delve into the specific impacts of urban parks on residents' health, particularly in the context of ongoing reductions in green space in modern cities, which could potentially have adverse effects on the physical and mental health of citizens. We employed survey questionnaires and field observations to assess urban park users from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, collecting data on their psychological and physiological health states. The questionnaire design covered multiple dimensions including self-assessed health, levels of physical activity, and frequency of social interactions. Field observations were conducted to validate the questionnaire data and to monitor the usage patterns of park facilities and user behavior. Variance analysis (ANOVA) was used to compare health status differences among users from different backgrounds. Additionally, multivariate regression analysis was applied to explore the relationship between the frequency of park visits and health outcomes. A comprehensive health status assessment was performed on park users from various socio-economic backgrounds. Preliminary results indicate that regular visits to parks significantly enhance the psychological well-being, physical activity levels, and social interaction frequencies of residents. These findings are expected to provide robust empirical support for urban planners and public health policy makers, emphasizing the urgent need to enhance urban green space planning. Moreover, our research underscores the importance of actively integrating sustainable and health-promoting green elements in urban design, which not only improves the quality of life for citizens but also fosters the sustainable development of the ecological environment.
