維生素D對口腔與牙齒健康的影響

摘要


維生素D的生物活性物質1,25(OH)2D與維生素D接受器(vitamin D receptor, VDR)在維持口腔上皮細胞和口腔免疫的功能上扮演重要的角色,雖然缺乏維生素D本身不足以引起癌前病變,但與其他遺傳或環境因素協同作用,可能會增加口腔鱗狀細胞癌的風險;此外1,25(OH)2D/VDR的保護口腔機制最有可能在維持口腔黏膜組織的代謝平衡方面發揮作用,因而提供對牙菌斑所引起的牙周病的保護,證據顯示維生素D缺乏與慢性牙周炎的風險增加有關;因此平時補充具生物活性的維生素D對於慢性牙周炎的一般性治療可能具有幫助。
