Music has complex cognitive and emotional effects on listeners. Therefore, the uses and functions of music within museums deserve detailed examination, both in the practical and theoretical aspects. The aim of this study was to investigate the use of literature music at the Laiho Memorial Museum, specifically its effects on visitors' emotions, memory, and museum experience. Qualitative interviews were conducted with 20 visitors, with follow-up interview implemented via telephone one month after the museum visit. The data collected from these interviews show that literature music had the following effects: deeper experience of the zeitgeist, more profound understanding of the spirit of Lai Ho's literary works, emotional contagion, increased learning motivation, and enhanced long-term memory of the exhibition. Literature music not only influenced visitors' emotional memories, but also facilitated various interpretations of Lai Ho's literary works. This study suggests that museums should seek stronger collaboration with music researchers and creators in the future, and enrich the museum experience and emotional memories of museum visitors through the combination of exhibition and songs.
