The term of dose creep describes the phenomenon of being unaware of increasing the radiation dose to pursue better image quality. To verify this phenomenon, we chose Fuji's FCR system which provides the S number to be a standard value for evaluation. Based on this value, we divided the collected data into three groups which are optimal-, over-, and under-exposure. From January 2020 to March 2022, 8913 S number of KUB views were gathered, and in the following six months, we improved the radiation dose control. During the six months, 1669 S number of KUB views were gathered. Furthermore, we analyzed these data in two directions. One of them is directly using the S number to determine whether the phenomenon of dose creep exists and to observe the results of amelioration. Another is based on the S number to calculate the number of times which was belonged to optimal-, over-, and under-exposure. Compared with the results of the data gathering phase, we could analyze the effect of amelioration. In the results, although we did not observe the phenomenon of dose creep in our department and the average value of S number was roughly kept at the same level, we had been able to reduce the number of non-optimal exposure times.
