Recently discovered documents and photos at Christian Theological Seminary Library, Indianapolis (CTS) reveal the details of the distinguished and famed missionary Dr. Albert L. Shelton during his time in Batang, Sichuan. This paper examines the photos. Tibetan language books and the papers published contemporarily in World Call- the United Christian Missionary Society (UCMS) journal-in order to have a better understanding of Dr. Albert Shelton's time in Batang. These valuable materials at CTS are very important for scholars who study the history of the UCMS missions in China as well as those who do missionary studies along the Sino-Tibetan borderland.
