Professor Kang-wang Yen has mentioned that the names of the provinces (hsien縣) as appeared in the first caption in the Di Li Zhi (地理志) of Han Shu (漢書, the History of the Han Dynasty) are the actual administration areas for the Jun (郡) and guo (國) (Seat of Jin-level郡級or Guo-level 國級administration areas) in the late period of Western Han Dyansty. For example, the administration area for Liang Guo (梁國principality) was the Dang Xian (碭縣province). But, Mr. Wen-chu Wang claimed that not all names stuck to the same rule. It is proved that the actual place is in Sui Yang Xian instead of Dang Xian as appeared in The Historical Atlas of China, Vol. II (1982). It correlates with the map of the jum-guo (郡國) at the juncture of the Yuan Yan Period and the Sui Ho Period in the reign of Cheng Di (成帝元延, 綏和之交), together with the population map of other jun-guo in the second year of the Yuan Shi (元始) Period in the reign of Ping Di (平帝). This was compiled with the mixture of both. It is also recorded in the book of Han Zhi (漢志): "The eight hsiens of Liang Guo (梁國八縣) - three in the east and five in the western part of it (whereas Sui Yang Xian was in the west, and Dang Xian in the east). The total population was 38,709 which was the number of families in the eastern part only, after the cutback in size from eight hsiens to three in the middle of the Yuan Yan Period (approx. 10 B.C.). Geographically, the reduction should be those five provinces in Sui Yang Xian. Therefore, we realize that the kingdom of Liang Guo had moved to Dang Xian, taking it as the place for the tombs and mausoleums for ancestors.
