Introduction to Thermal Management of Electric Motors

摘要


本文簡介馬達散熱設計上所需要注意的要點,包含繞組最大限制溫度與馬達壽命之關係,不同轉速下馬達熱源的變化關係以及馬達散熱的種類,透過許多文獻,提供完整的架構可供馬達進行散熱分析。另外介紹常見的封閉型馬達所使用的散熱系統,並分析彼此間優劣差異,最後簡單介紹其餘文獻的馬達散熱分析,觀察不同散熱結構的溫度分布並敘述其散熱原理。總結前後結果以利於未來在設計馬達上能改善馬達運轉效率與馬達運轉壽命,並且最小化製造和維護上的成本。

This article reviews the thermal design of motors, including the relationship between the maximum temperature of windings and the motor life span, the relationship between the heat source of the motor at different speeds and the type of the motor in the thermal design. Through some literature survey, a complete thermal management overview is provided. In addition, the advantages and disadvantages of thermal systems used in common enclosed motor are analyzed among each other. Finally, some typical case studies concerning the temperature distribution are presented and discussed. The summarized results are useful in designing motors and can be used to improve the motor operating efficiency and life span, and minimize the cost of manufacturing and maintenance.
