When enterprises introduce smart manufacturing, they focus on improving employee productivity, optimizing equipment operation efficiency, and building smart and flexible processes. 5G mobile communication technology has the three characteristics of larger bandwidth, wider connection and ultra-low latency, combined with artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, big data and cloud computing technologies, it is expected to realize edge computing, real-time monitoring of production line, AMR, AR/VR remote collaboration, predicative maintenance, etc. Taiwan's ICT industry companies use their own factories as trial sites to actively develop 5G smart manufacturing solutions. Taiwan's electronics industry can be described as including the ICT industry of downstream system assembly, as well as the upstream industry such as the semiconductor industry, optoelectronics industry, electronic component industry, etc. The successful 5G smart manufacturing experience of Taiwan's electronics industry, which can not only open up new markets for ICT industry, but also drive other industries to take the first step in transformation.
