虛擬化技術得力於CPU架構的演進,在近年來有著突破性的進展。但伺服器虛擬化只是進入雲端服務的墊腳石,如何管理桌面環境與網路頻寬將是提升整體效益的重要思考。在虛擬桌面基礎架構VDI平台上,常常很容易因為使用者的不當使用(例如比特幣挖礦),導致網路頻寬被占滿,而影響整體平台的網路效能。本文將以淡江大學軟體雲為例,在不多出額外的軟硬體購置成本下,探討如何透過Traffic Shaping技術,即時管理VM虛擬桌面的網路流量,避免單一台VM虛擬桌面在遭受網路攻擊或感染惡意程式時,導致網路流量過大而影響軟體雲平台上,其他正常VM虛擬桌面的網路服務。
The CPU evolution emphasizes performance in infrastructure virtualization for the past few years. However, it is just the beginning, the important thinking is to conform and manage desktop environment and network bandwidth. It is often the user improperly use (Bitcoin Mining) in the VDI platform and affect the overall network performance. In this paper, with no more the other additional hardware and software costs, we describe the real-time network traffic management by implement Traffic Shaping on TamKang University Softcloud VDI , to avoid a single virtual desktop getting heavy traffic loading whether infect malware or under network attack, influence the network services of the other normal desktop environment.
