This paper introduces and interprets the fundamental meanings of the Tibetan Buddhist symbol of "Mi-thun-g.yul-rgyal-gsum." Furthermore, it gives a detailed analysis of its internal structure. In this paper, it is shown that "Mi-thun-g.yul-rgyal- gsum" does not only convey the Buddhist spirit of "pity and wisdom", its principle of art also demonstrates concordance with the values embedded in symbiotic ecology. Based on this finding, in the context of the academic history of Buddhist ecology, the author makes investigation into the concept of symbiosis, and shows concern for the reality on the grounding of pragmatism.
