The thought of Juelang Daosheng was the most distinctive in Buddhist Monasteries during the Late-Ming and Early-Qing Dynasties. Taking him as an example, I examine his theoretical origin and mode of discourse of thoughts of protecting the nation. From the perspective of intermingling between Confucianism and Buddhism, I use Dafa Zhong Neiwaihu Shuo and other articles as main objects of study and explore the relationship between Juelang Daosheng's thoughts and the historical and cultural context of the time. My conclusion is that there is clear political stance and practical care appeared in Juelang Daosheng's Yuan Dao Qi Lun. In particular, "Daye Honglu Chan" and "Three Teachings Coordination" show the new line of thinking in the thought of protecting the nation in Premodern Buddhism. Although the situation was very dangerous, Juelang Daosheng never had the consciousness of Dharma Decline. His pursuit of the ideal practice never changed regardless of the changes of circumstance. This is the most important message that Juelang Daosheng left for future generations.
