臺灣圓照寺住持敬定法師與東南亞及韓國佛教界的交流
The Interactions of the Abbot of Taiwan Yuan Zhao Temple Master Jing Ding with the East-Asian and Korean Buddhist Circles
摘要
臺灣高雄市圓照寺，建寺至今已有七十年歷史。1984年起，由敬定法師擔任住持，採取佛法生活化、佛教人間化導向，孜孜矻矻弘揚地藏法門，翕來海內外眾多信徒，使該寺成為南臺灣佛教重鎮。敬定法師與馬來西亞、新加坡等東南亞國家，以及韓國的佛教界都有密切的交流，本文依時間序分別梳理之。其交流活動的意涵，可歸納為四項：一、就交流旨趣言，以弘傳地藏法門信仰為主；二、就交流方式言，講經弘法與以藝弘法並行；三、就交流內容言，地藏經要與生活佛法兼重；四、就交流效應言，平等互惠及深化法誼關係。這些經驗與效應，皆富有意義與價值，對於佛法的宣揚以及催化佛教的國際交流，都有鉅大助益。

Yuan Zhao Temple in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, has been established for seventy years. Since 1984, Master Jing Ding has served as the abbot, adopting the orientation of making Buddhism close to life and humanistic. His diligence in promoting the teachings of Earth Bodhisattva gathers many believers at home and abroad and makes the temple the Buddhist hub in southern Taiwan. Master Jing Ding has the close interactions with the southeastern Asian countries such as Malaysia and Singapore as well as the Buddhist circle of Korea. This paper makes a chronological organization. The meanings of the interactions can be concluded into the following four points: 1. In terms of the objective of the interactions, it is mainly to promote the religious belief in Earth Bodhisattva. 2. In terms of the method of interactions, propagating the Buddhist teachings through both lectures and art is applied. 3. In terms of the content of the interactions, Sutra of Terra-Treasure and the Buddhist teachings in life are both emphasized. 4. In terms of the effect of interactions, the reciprocal equality and deepened relationship are achieved. These experiences and effects are rich in meanings and value, benefiting hugely the propaganda of the Buddhist teachings and encouraging the Buddhist international interactions.
