摘要
一、臺灣西南與南部海域是我海軍艦隊平時的偵巡區；亦是戰時艦隊預想決戰海域之一；平時海軍官兵就需重視海底地形與水文環境，正因為天天面對，往往也容易輕忽。尤其西南海域的海岸地形、海底崎嶇地形、海底泥火山等水下兵要資料，更潛在影響著我海軍艦隊的安全；同時水下「內波」造就之漁場，易產生嚴重環境噪音，影響聲納拍發與水下音源接收，更影響海軍武器與裝備發揮，及戰術戰法的執行與潛艦航行的安全，值得注意。二、臺灣南部巴士海峽是兼具經濟、軍事和政治靈敏度極高的海峽，也是西太平洋中一個其重要戰略意義的海峽，控制巴士海峽等於掌握我國南部的海空域；且對美、「中」、臺、菲而言，至關重要。此外，巴士海峽是國際水道，這條海上補給線的重要性，在戰時更「不言可喻」；故對此海峽海底地形、水深、水下水文環境，海軍軍官有必要深入瞭解，方能有助戰場運用。

1.The southwest and southern waters of Taiwan are the routine patrol areas for our navy fleet, as well as one of the anticipated battle zones during wartime. Navy officers and soldiers need to pay attention to the seabed terrain and hydrological environment, as they face them every day, which can often be overlooked. Especially in the southwest waters, the coastal terrain, rugged seabed terrain, and submarine geophysical data such as underwater mud volcanoes pose potential threats to the safety of our navy fleet. At the same time, the "submarine internal waves" generated by fishing grounds create serious environmental noise, affecting sonar transmission and underwater sound source reception, further impacting the performance of navy weapons and equipment, as well as the execution of tactical strategies and the safety of submarine navigation. 2.The Bashi Channel in southern Taiwan is a highly sensitive strait with significant economic, military, and political importance. It is also a strategically vital strait in the Western Pacific, controlling the Bashi Channel means controlling the maritime and airspace in the southern part of our country, which is crucial for the United States, China, Taiwan, and the Philippines. Additionally, as an international waterway, the importance of this maritime supply line is even more evident during wartime. Therefore, deep understanding of the seabed terrain, depth, and underwater hydrological environment of this strait by navy officers is essential for effective battlefield utilization.
