摘要

Histologically males of the house gecko (Hemidactylus frenatus) in Taiwan appear to have a potential for breeding and few females possess yolked follicles and oviducal eggs during winter. However, this gecko seem to decline its reproductive activities from August into cessation in September, well before the coming winter. During the winter, most individuals have smaller testes or follicles and more fat reserves than those in the other seasons.

組織切片之數據顯示臺灣産之蝎虎（Hemidactylus frenatus）雄性於冬季時有生殖的潛能，而且少數雌性蝎虎發現有懷卵或蛋的現象。然而，這種壁虎似都於冬季來之前的八月顯著的降低而於九月時停止生殖活動。於冬季時，大多數蝎虎有較小的睾丸或濾泡，但有較多的脂肪積貯。
