V形:圣经的叙事结构及其反讽性

V Pattern: The Narrative Structure of the Bible and Its Irony

並列摘要

After a careful study of the narrative structure of the Bible, the author observes a unified and coherent V pattern in the stories told. The Biblical story line would start at a high point in life, followed by a sudden fall into misery, only to rise again from misfortune to end at a higher plane of wellness that surpasses its origin. This narrative structure reflects the biblical theme of God's sovereignty and the redemption of His people. The narrative pattern where the proud is debased and the lowly is exalted creates theatrical tension and contrast that accentuates the irony in the vicissitudes of the human predicament. Such treatment makes for pleasurable reading and effective moral instruction, and has therefore shaped the narrative form in Western literature. The author demonstrates from a few books of the Bible this V pattern in narrative and how it communicates irony and meaning.
