基督徒看孔子與其門弟子的關係

A Christian's View on the Relationship between Confucius and his Students

並列摘要

The article intends to trace the similarities and differences of Jesus' and Confucius' thought, activities and speech by examining two classical scriptures: the Bible and the Confucian Analects. Firstly, similarities in the content of the Bible and the Confucian Analects exist (for example, in a cultural sense, both of them stress morality, personal cultivation, the concept of equality and both Jesus and Confucius have an ideal personality in their thought.) It can be seen that although these two great figures lived at different times and places, they have many similar ideas and teachings. The article uses the method of studying the Bible (e.g. method of analogy, time consequence and hermeneutics) to examine and to understand the similarities and differences of their teacher-student relationship and educational ideas. As a whole, the article describes Confucius's theory using some examples in the Confucian Analects and then compare with similar examples in the Bible so as to know Confucius' and Jesus' viewpoints and handling methods. The topics of these examples include: it is appropriate to use a sentence for summarizing Confucius' and Jesus' teaching and central ideas; both of them are able to give instant teachings to their relatively rude students; both possess sincere and humble mind: both try to save the World and the people, no matter man or woman.
