摘要

The Lord's Prayer is probably from the tradition of historical Jesus. Petition 1 to 3 has some relation to the tradition of the synagogue in the way of praising the Lord and looking forward to the coming of the Kingdom of God. Petition 4-7 reflects the ethos of itinerant charismatics of the Jesus Movement as well as the political, economical, religious conflicts in Galilee and in Palestine. In the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, people looked forward to God's interference in history by sending Messiah to save His people from tribulations of being exploited, oppressed and enslaved. And also they had the belief that God's kingdom would fall on the earth and His will be done in earth as it is in heaven. On the one hand, the Lord's Prayer intensified the expectation; on the other hand, it taught the followers of Jesus to rely on God and have a close relationship with Him.
