In his novel Judas Iscariot, the Russian Silver Age writer Andreyev reconstructed the story of Judas's betrayal of Jesus in the Gospels. By using the method of comparison and combining the historical and cultural context of the writer himself, this paper discusses the reverse interpretation of the themes of salvation, endurance, and resurrection in the Gospels on the basis of reconstruction in Judas Iscariot. The themes of anti-redemption, resistance, and death contained in Judas Iscariot reflect Andreev's thoughts on the Russian people, religion, and revolution in the late 19th and early 20th century.
