女性主體的掩映:《眉語》女作家小說的情愛書寫

Female Subjectivity Concealed: A Study of the Love Discourses in Fiction Written by Women in Eyebrows Talks

摘要


清末民初是女權勃發的時代,也是小說女作家開始大量躍上文壇的重要時期。由於女權的籲求,女子教育漸形普遍,具備寫作能力的婦女逐漸增多,婦女的發聲權也逐漸受到肯定,小說女作家的人數在這樣的環境中逐漸增加、茁長。女作家寫作過程中,無論出於有意或是無心,其婦女自身的特有經驗、身心感受、自覺意識等等,滲透、融攝於小說之中,遂形成女作家小說特有的書寫表現。《眉語》自民國三年(1914)陰曆十月創刊,至民國五年(1916)三月停刊,前後共出十八期,是清末民初時期少有的容納大量女作家小說的雜誌。此刊以「及時行樂」、「消閒」、「遊戲」、「花前月下之良伴」為宗旨。男女相戀、談愛說情的故事,乃雜誌刊載的大宗,情愛書寫遂成為這份刊物俯拾即得的內容。言情雖然是頗為通俗的小說題材,且有時難逃某種公式化的情節架構,然而,出刊於民初的《眉語》,仍在字裡字外展呈了女權洗禮的效應。自清末開始的女權主張與各種相應措施,在民初《眉語》的女作家們身上,可以發覺或大或小的影響與成效。女作家小說於談情說愛、離合悲歡之際,同時流洩出婦女特有的自我敏覺,以及逐漸形塑而出的女性主體。本文以《眉語》女作家小說為觀察對象,針對其中情愛書寫的部分,試圖鈎稽小說中閃現浮露、逐漸模塑成形的女性主體。

The late Qing is the period when women's rights began to surface and circulate in society and female writers started to appear in literary circles. Due to the dissemination of new concepts of women's rights, the literacy rate and women's opportunities for education were highly improved, and women writers began to flourish. Consciously or unconsciously, these women writers somehow voiced their thoughts, experiences, feelings in their literary works and formed a specific kind of discourse that can be designated as a female discourse of their own. Eyebrows Talks (Meiyu 眉語, 1914-1916) was a magazine devoted to such aims and needs of women writers. On the surface, this magazine was and can be characterized as a popular entertainment magazine; however, it is permeated with discourse of women that can reveal traces of the concepts of women's rights of the times. Many newly-introduced ideas of women's rights can be discovered in it, and a gradually forming female subjectivity can be discerned in this magazine. The purpose of this article will be to delineate and evaluate the shaping of this female subjectivity and its significances.
