The current transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing information industry relies heavily on digital twin technologies. This paper focused on the application status and practical significance of integral blade disc, thin‐walled shell manufacturing of combustion chamber, design and manufacturing of turbine blade and fan blade, in order to assess the situation of theoretical research and practical application of digital twin technology in the manufacturing field of key components of aero‐engine. Focusing on the fusion of aero‐engine manufacturing technology as well as digital resources in the metaverse environment, this paper discussed the development trend of aero‐engine manufacturing technology from the viewpoint of the technical support role of digital twin in the manufacturing procedure in metaverse environment, and summarized its key technologies. It has been shown by the analysis that the concepts and technologies linked to digital twin having great potential and application prospects in the manufacture of key components of aero‐engine.
