Quarter Insulator Phase of Ultracold Bosons in Double Chain Optical Lattices

摘要

We study physical model of double chain optical lattice with the nearest neighbor tight binding approximation, and only considering the coupling relationship between adjacent lattice sites. Then, the optical lattice chain can be treated as clusters, we decoupled the adjacent clusters by using the mean field theory, so the order parameters of the system are calculated by exact diagonalization method. It is found that the hopping strength promote the formation of superfluid phase, and the intra cluster transition brings a new quarter Mott insulating phase.
