Carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) is a new type of composite material, which can be used as the material of automobile bumper crossbeam because of its strong designability. This paper analyzes and discusses the advantages of the car bumper crossbeam made of carbon fiber reinforced composites in collision, compares the traditional steel bumper crossbeam with the carbon fiber composite bumper crossbeam, establishes the collision model of car bumper and pendulum through UG, and preprocesses the model with ANSYS, collision simulation of bumper model with LS-DYNA. The time displacement curve and stress-strain nephogram of the bumper crossbeam in the collision process were observed and analyzed by LS pre post, and the mechanical properties of the carbon fiber composite automobile bumper crossbeam in the collision were obtained, which provided the basis for its optimal design.
