Implications of Prefabricated Chunks for English Writing Teaching

摘要

Writing is an advanced stage of language output and plays a vital role in language learning. Prefabricated chunks are word strings that are stored in advance and retrieved at the time of use. Many scholars found prefabricated chunks exert a positive effect on writing. Based on the previous research, the study aims to illustrate the implications for English writing teaching. It reaches the conclusion that prefabricated chunks is a very complicated linguistic phenomenon and can improve the students' writing ability and promote the language production.
