How Choosing Different Online Learning Methods Affect International High School Students' Learning Effectiveness?

摘要

This study aims to investigate the relationship between choosing different online learning methods and academic performance to determine how different online learning methods affect international high school students' learning effectiveness. 21 male and female students around 17 years old were collected by completing a background questionnaire. Then, they did a learning style questionnaire that would determine their grouping. They did a quiz after they learned the material of The Benefits of a Bilingual Brain using reading, listening, or video method and the results were analyzed and compared. This study shows that the most effective learning method is reading, followed by video and audio. Verbal reading, the least preferred method, contributes to the highest academic results and visual learning can lead to better academic performances. In the trend of online learning nowadays, choosing the right online learning methods seems to be important, as it will be a long‐term influence on how students perform in online learning.
